Coffee & dessert aficionados rejoice! Happening this August 12th-14th 2016 at Gurney Paragon Mall, the Penang Coffee & Desserts Festival is set to bring many exciting activities such as coffee art exhibition, latte art throwdown, hand brew methods demonstration, coffee caricature, jelly moon cake hands on session, macaron decorating hands on session and many more. Of course, there will also be plenty of coffee and dessert booths for the public to patronize.
Amongst the exciting coffee and dessert items that will be available during the festival, we managed to get a sneak preview from The Safe Room, who will be rolling out a new item specially for the festival…
Cloud 9 Affogato by The Safe Room
The Cloud 9 Affogato is impressively presented and puts a unique twist to this dessert with a fluffy cloud of cotton candy. Pouring the hot espresso on the cotton candy will reveal the vanilla ice cream hidden inside.
Dragon’s Breath Popcorn by The Safe Room
The Safe Room will also be featuring it’s best seller the Dragon’s Breath during the festival. Eating popcorn is made even more fun by the Safe Room, with the addition of liquid nitrogen which results in icy cool ‘smoke’. Do give this fun snack a try during the festival!

For those who prefer something more substantial other than coffee and desserts, a food truck gathering party is also happening from 13th-14th August 2016 (5pm-10pm)
Some of the food trucks that will be present include Cake Time, Artisans Pizza Penang, Papa’s Coconut Ice Cream, Aubrey’s Waffles, Bubu Food Truck (western food), Marvelous Juice, Apple Fun, Hotcha (bubble tea), Coffee Rescue, Marvelous Recipe, Coffee talk and Tuk Tuk Coffee.
